Scholarship

The Emerald Empire Chapter is very aware of our civic responsibilities to our community and its’ youth.  We believe one of our responsibilities is to support the youth of our organization in their educational endeavors beyond high school. To that  effort,  we have created the Emerald Empire College Scholarship Program. This $250 scholarship is awarded annually and is open to ALL applicants who meet EECNWS scholarship eligibility requirements.  Qualified applicants  may fill out the EECNWS scholarhip application and return it to any EECNWS board member by April 30th.

One member, Brian Clift, is credited with raising a large portion of the funds  for the scholarship program.  In 2001, Brian began the project of building a Don Hill style Mckenzie drift boat and trailer.  The goal was to sell the boat/trailer upon completion and donate the proceeds to the club’s scholarship program.   Don Hill, a custom drift boat builder in Springfield, Oregon, donated the plans and instructional video, as well as offered his guidance in the building process.  After many hours of work (and much tender-loving care), the boat and trailer were completed.  We would like to thank Brian for all his efforts. We would also like to thank the following people/businesses for their donations to the project.
